Lucy gets her engine today!

Well this has been the day I've been looking forward to for months now. The crew is coming over and were giving Lucy a transplant.
It was not a drop in affair as it would take two hours and alot of adjustments but she finally went into the motor mounts and the bolts through. Baby its tight on that firewall but after she finally got located it gave me an inch to spare in the back.
Now the next big day will be when she burps for the first time.
Thank you Jesus as I was praying nobody got hurt today!

Custom Exhaust setup

I put some bondo on the fiberglas where it was cutout for the new mufflers. I'll sand and paint that to match next week. Then I positioned the new mufflers and tips where they will go and started the layout process. After that I cut (gulp) the bumper and raised the system back up and it came out great.

Details Details

Well I am looking to install the engine on Sat. with the help of a few friends and it is ready to go so I worked on details today. The battery box is done and the gel battery in the trunk well.

I put the interior back together but must hold off on the console as the trans shifter has to get in there first. It was nice to sit in the seat again and dream of the car being done. The box underneath will get some bondo tomorrow as the second coat fo fiberglas drys.

The engine and trans are ready for install now. I pulled the front bumper off so as not to damage it when the engine goes in.
The engine was taken off the stand and put on the floor, then I went over and hoisted up the trans and put it on the table. Then back to get the motor on the hoist and brought it over next to the table. I bolted up the flywheel and torqued it to specs, then the clutch and pressure plate. This is all LS7 stuff so it should take the 450+hp and more I think Lucy Ann will produce.
Next was to pick it up and align it with the trans on the table. It took a little work doing it by myself but with the Lord's help it came together. I think I'm ready for an install on Sat. Whooppee!!!!!

Computer install

After quite a few trials and planning it appears that the computer will be safe and dry if I mount it into the glove box. I cut a notch and after replacing the A/C unit it all fits when I close the door.
The fuse box will be located in the left hand corner with plenty of room and high and dry.
Maybe the engine can go in a week or two.
